Since my mood of the day is pretty much equivalent to the breakfast that I have. 🙂

And I have a 30+ people strong kitchen team, to make the whole breakfast menu that I can choose from.

So I think I am quite good to go:)

PLUS, things couldnt have been better with my new assistant on board.

I got my car back from the garage yesterday. It is now perfect. But it did burn a big hole in my pocket.:'(

Poverty. is the hardest word!

Management

Filed under: thoughts — elyseeteo @ 8:26 am

Once upon a time, a man in a hot air balloon realized that he was
lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit
more and shouted. “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would
meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.”
The woman below replied. “You’re in a hot air balloon hovering
approximately 30 feet above the ground. You’re between 50 and 51 degrees
north latitude and between 114 and 115 degrees west longitude.”
“You must be an engineer,” said the balloonist.
“I am,” replied the woman. “How did you know?”
“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is technically
correct, but I’ve no idea what to make use of your information. The fact
is, I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help at all. If anything,
you’ve delayed my trip.”
The woman below responded, “You must be in management.”
“I am,” replied the balloonist, “but how did you know?”
“Well,” said the woman, “you don’t know where you are or where you’re
going.
You have risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You
made a promise, which you’ve no idea how to keep, and you expect people
beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is, you are in exactly the
same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, you’ve managed
to make it my fault!!”

Breakfast was wonderful today with a donut (again! I think homer simpson would approve of my diet. ha) and apple crumble.:)

Hmm… donuts!

Filed under: thoughts — elyseeteo @ 4:16 am

Today, yesterday and the day before. I grabbed a donut + something extra from the breakfast buffet, after morning briefing.:)

img_2288.jpgMy breakfast this morning.

V said that I eat my lunch too early. (I usually eat at 11am. Time and Tide AND Janine’s Hunger waits for no man. haha.) Hence I usually eat lunch alone, or with my dearest R, who is my fellow easily hungry companion.:) OR when I can convince B or A or even V that they are, in fact, hungry, despite them not feeling so. Yet.

ha.

ANW. Perhaps it’s me. After having breakfast this morning. Here I am, hungry again! Geez.

And unfortunately for me, I do not have high metabolism. 😥

PS: the irritating thing in Thailand is that: the ladies are separated into 2 categories: Fat and Skinny. There is no medium?!?!!?

And I was taking my measurements for my new uniform that day, Su was commenting that I put on weight already. grrr… (which in actual fact I DIDN’T!)

So I humoured her and pointed to my tummy. and she came and verified: No, you mai mee (don’t have) tummy. She then pointed at my thighs: here, I think you gained weight here.

I am like OMG. Fine.

My waist is trimmer now. at 2X inches. I still want to lose 1 or 2 more inches.

who measures their thighs anyway?!? any of you girls measure your thighs??!?

MOD, I survived!

Filed under: Updates — elyseeteo @ 3:31 am

The last weekend was a mad mix of stress and rushing around.

The hotel was in its high occupancy. For the first time since I am here. It is running almost full house.

And! unfortunately (or fortunately), I had to perform my first MOD (manager on duty) during this very busy weekend!! (both saturday and sunday). This means, I am in charge of the hotel for these 2 days.

As such, I had to carry the pager around and be on my toes 24hours for those days.

Wow, i must say, it is quite an experience. I had no idea what might happen, and this experience will stay with me for some time..:) (I was soooo stressed by this the day before and on the actual day!!)

And having dropped by phone on the floor, my time was about 20mins late. causing me to be late for the morning brief on Sunday. (the brief finished by the time I arrived, *cough*) Did not sleep well on Saturday, because of all the happenings going on. So I slept for 12 hours straight! (right after my duty yesterday night)

Since we are having high occupancy, one of our outlets are doing a buffet. 🙂

img_2275.jpgimg_2277.jpgimg_2279.jpgimg_2281.jpgimg_2282.jpgMe especially love the desserts!!:)

 img_2283.jpgI ate salmon sashimi. 🙂

And I thought of my days with Chenwei. There was this period that we had salmon almost every lunch!!

Food is always tastier with the right company, no? 😉
